Adapted Sports Day at the Capitol
AAASP, GHSA, athletes, State Representatives and friends rallied yesterday to support adapted sports in the schools during Adapted Sports Day at the State Capitol. Members of AAASP, the Board of Directors, families and student-athletes met with Governor Nathan Deal for a photo, then visited with their State Representatives and Senators to spread awareness about the life-changing benefits of athletic inclusion in health, academics and socialization as evidenced through more than 16 years of operation in Georgia schools The day was complete with a resolution recognizing the outstanding achievement by AAASP, here and nationally in leading these effort for students with physical disabilities —what a great day!
