This is a Sports Illustrated story and video about a special local athlete, JaQue Billingsley. He sustained an injury which led to an amputation early in high school. The school system offers the adaptedSPORTS program through AAASP and the student athlete joined the wheelchair basketball team after he recovered. His involvement in AAASP/Houston County Sharks wheelchair sports programs gave him confidence to get back into sports, and he has now been able to return to playing high school football. This story shares his struggles and triumphs and showcases what student-athletes can achieve, given the opportunity.
