Former Atlanta Falcons Linebacker Buddy Curry, Co-Founder of Kids & Pros, and Master Trainer with USA Football hosted camps across the Southeast this year, to help train young athletes interested in playing football, in the proper skills and safe techniques of playing the sport. An emphasis was placed on proper tackling, to help athletes understand that you can avoid injuries, like concussions, if you practice proper body alignment, and keep your head up at the point of impact (along with a few other important steps to create a successful tackle). Along with camps, Curry offers clinics for coaches and parents, as well, to spread knowledge of football skills and safety messages, to help them serve as advocates for the athletes to better prepare them for the upcoming season. Kids & Pros will host a camp next week at Chastain Park for a local youth organization, to share proper tackling techniques, along with info on playing the game, character building, and other skills. The information he is sharing on safe tackling and concussion avoidance, is part of the Head’s Up Football platform, courtesy of USA Football.
The Kids & Pros camp is sponsored in part by a grant from the Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation.
